Jolisa has four kids between the ages of 5 - 11. She lives in Minneapolis and takes the bus every day to her full-time job in St. Paul, MN. They're very excited to receive this 2010 Dodge Caravan, which can fit all of them and their dog! The best thing about getting the car from the Newgate School Wheels For Women Program: no more 3-hour trips to the grocery store on the bus, and Jolisa no longer has to scramble to figure out how to pick up her kids if the school happens to call.
They were given the keys by Otahl, a talented auto mechanic student at the school. He used his current skills to fix the engine troubles and got this vehicle into great shape for the family. He still has a few months left in his training, and he's already using his skills to make the world a better place.
Newgate School gives away cars about once a month to single working moms as a way to give back to the community. Over the years, we've given away over 800 cars to help moms in need make a better life for their families.
