Since 1975, Newgate School has supported under-resourced young adults with tuition-free automotive repair training and job placement + assisting low-income single moms with access to refurbished vehicles. With over 900 students served in 50 years, over 700 moms supported, hundreds of incredible partners cheering us on, and over 70,000 vehicles donated to Newgate School .....we are celebrating our BIG 5-0!

 

Join us for a day filled with a car show, food trucks, music, kid's activities, special vendors, awards and more. Whether you're a car enthusiast or simply looking for a fun outing, this event is perfect for everyone. Come celebrate with us as we mark this special milestone in style.

All ages are welcome!

Service animals only. No bikes, hoverboards, skates, sport scooters on the car show lot. Wheelchairs and mobility aids are allowed.

 

 

Car Show Etiquette:

  • Respect the vehicles by not touching them.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings.
  • Interact respectfully with other attendees and the event organizers. 
  • Toss away trash and recyclables.

The KIDS will love it, the GROWN UPS will love it, and anyone in between is sure to have a great time as we have some special announcements and suprises to share.

Please note: our 1:00 PM "Cackle Fest" will be extremely loud. Headphones are encouraged for sensitive ears or to step further back from the South East corner of our event grounds. The engine revving will be approximately 10 mintues. Following the cackle fest will be announcements!

Free public parking is available on nearby streets indicated in green on the map shown. 

 

IMPORTANT EVENT NOTES & ROAD SIGNS ALERT:

As you plan your travel arrangements to join us this Saturday, please be sure to look ahead at construction, road closures or possible detours on your designated route.

 

As you near Newgate School, watch for signs to help guide you safely around work areas and event signage towards our event.

 

** 29th Ave SE at Hennepin Ave will be closed for the event from 8am-2pm. A small driveway will be available ONLY for local residents. Please follow detour signs to 33rd Ave or adjacent streets. Event signage will be placed in the neighborhood directing you to the event as well.

 

** 29th Ave SE at Talmage Ave will be closed to event traffic from 10am - 2pm. Event staff will be allowing only our private Park & Ride vehicle, donors and vendors as needed.

 

ADA parking: we do have 3 reserved ADA spaces available. Please do drive up to 29th Ave SE from Como Ave/Talmage Ave to ask event staff for ADA parking.

 

FREE Park & Ride will be available for limited vehicles on 33rd Ave and Como Ave in the bolger print surface lot.

 

FREE parking is also available in the surface lot on Hennepin Ave & Industrial Blvd. Newgate School parking sign will indicate location and access point.

 

FREE to attend. We are grateful for any donations made to support our programs.

No public parking in the Como Student Community Co-Op Parking Lots.
