The holiday season brings a special kind of generosity to Newgate School, and the 12 Moms of Christmas initiative continues to shine as one of the most meaningful traditions in our community. Each year, twelve hardworking single mothers receive the gift of reliable transportation through our Wheels for Women program. This is a gift that provides stability, opens new opportunities, and lightens the load of daily life.
This year's celebration carried the same heartfelt spirit with a renewed sense of hope. Thanks to the kindness of local partners, each mother received a fully refurbished vehicle stocked with gifts, essentials, and thoughtful items to support their family as they move into the new year. What begins as a donated car becomes something far greater: a pathway to employment, education, and independence.

The Impact of the Wheels for Women Program
For more than 25 years, Newgate School has offered tuition-free automotive training to prepare young adults for careers in the automotive industry. At the heart of this mission is Wheels for Women, a program that uses donated vehicles as hands-on training projects for our students. After repairs are completed, the vehicles are given to single mothers who qualify, free of charge.
With more than 770 cars donated through the program, the effect is apparent. A reliable vehicle allows a mother to get to work, take her children to school or medical appointments, attend job training, and manage daily responsibilities with less stress. Demand continues to grow, with over 100 applications received each month, making community support essential in keeping the program strong year after year.
