You receive the highest possible write-off, FAIR MARKET VALUE, if your vehicle qualifies for use in our training and transportation assistance programs.

This is particularly true for newer vehicles (less than 10 years old) with reasonable miles even when they have body damage or mechanical problems. The donator can deduct the full market value of the vehicle.

All donated cars are detailed and many are serviced in our shop, even those that will not be used directly in our programs. This extra care improves the mechanical operation and appearance of each vehicle, often resulting in an increased sale price for Newgate and a higher tax deduction for you.

100% of your donation stays in Minnesota to help Minnesotans. Your vehicle provides:

• Education: At Newgate, the proceeds from your car, and often the car itself, are used to help train unemployed or under-employed adults for careers in auto-body repair and auto-mechanics.
• Transportation: Our “Wheels for Women” program uses your better vehicle donations to provide reliable transportation to get single moms to jobs and school and their children to childcare and medical appointments.
• Auto Repair: Your donation may fund our new “Fix-it for Families” program for low-income working families who are dependent upon their cars to get to jobs, but cannot afford costly repairs.

Newgate is funded 100% by your vehicle donations. We receive no operational support from government grants or tax sources.
