What kinds of vehicles can be donated?

Newgate will accept most cars, trucks and vans as tax-deductible donations. No appointment is necessary…just drive in during business hours.

Sometimes older cars of special interest may be acceptable, especially 4-wheel drive, classic or low mileage vehicles. Check with us by calling (612) 378-0177. You can email us, too.

If you’re buying a car. . .

Many donors choose to donate to Newgate when dealers tell them their car isn’t of much value on a trade-in, or when selling the vehicle is more trouble than it’s worth.

Because we use nearly all of the better cars directly in our training programs, Newgate can offer FAIR MARKET VALUE as the basis for tax deductions on these cars. Call us at (612) 378-0177 to see if your vehicle qualifies for our training and transportation programs.

Vehicles with Mechanical Problems or Body Damage:

We are especially in need of later model cars (less than 10 years old) with mechanical problems or collision damage.

Our students need the experience of practicing their skills on newer vehicles as part of their training for career jobs.

Towing can be arranged for older model cars, trucks and vans that cannot be driven to the school. For towing info:

(612) 378-0177.

Persons who wish to support Newgate's work with cash donations may do so by sending a check payable to "Newgate Education Center" at our address.

All cash donations will be used to purchase parts needed for the repair of vehicles in our Wheels or Fix-It for Families Programs.

Cash donations are tax-deductible. Receipts will be provided.
